I've been enjoying a recent series of videos filmed in Daz Dillinger's front yard, both for their sheer candor and for the fact that he seems entirely unconcerned about the apparently shabby nature of his post-rap existence.
In one of the videos, he addresses the fact that Kim Kardashian has blown a lot more people than Kanye was upset with the other day, and in another one he seems amused that Suge Knight accepted a plea "deal" for 28 years in prison.
One of the perks of living in a house that's only somewhat nicer than my own, smoking blunts all day with no shirt on, is that he can say anything he wants and not have to sweat the TIs giving him a call.
I'm concerned that he finds it necessary to go out into his front yard to film a video. It makes me wonder what's going on inside, like maybe he's not tidying up as often as he should.
If there's one thing that I've noted about people in less fortunate areas (I think I discussed this in No Country for Black Men), it's that they like to take phone conversations into the front yard.
Maybe it's because the houses are smaller and yet have more people living in them. But the thing is, it's not like the people in the house can't still hear what you're saying. I mean, if I can hear that shit from across the street.
Here's the Kanye video:
