Admittedly, there was a time, back in like the mid '90s, when the young Bol thought that Papa John's was utmost of culinary excellence. It was so good, it was hard to believe it only cost like $10. It really did seem like better ingredients, better pizza.
I'm not sure what happened to it since then, but whatever it was it fucking sucks balls. Now that Domino's has taken measures to make their pizzas more or less acceptable, it's easily the worst chain pizza establishment. Even those $5 Hot N Ready pizzas from Little Caeser's are better. And even if they weren't, you can't beat the price!
I'm actually more concerned with the quality of the pizza than the racism. Which is saying something, because the racism is considerable. Papa John, as I recall, had already been relieved of his duties as CEO because of whatever it was he said about Colin Kaepernick. Now he's out here using the dreaded n-word with the hard -er suffix and reminiscing about when people in Indiana used to drag black men behind pickup trucks.
Even Richard Spencer was like, Damn, that's racist.
I think I'm most bothered by the fact that Colonel Sanders used to use the dreaded n-word (which is why Papa John thinks he should be allowed to use it), presumably also with the hard -er suffix. Because I'mma keep it real: I'm still going to KFC. Fuck the dumb shit!
It won't be the same though...
