Confession time: One night, when I was especially bored, I checked this guy Ivan from Hip Hop Is Read's Last.fm, and I saw a buncha Cat Power shit, and I was like, "Sweet, another hip-hop head who's into Cat Power!
I know... That's just sad.
If I wasn't so out of shape, I'd consider joining the Army just to get my life in order, like in Stripes. If a few Iraqi children have to die in order for that to happen, then so be it.
For what it's worth though, I'll maintain that not only is Cat Power the smokingest hot white chick evar, despite years and years of ravaging her body with substance abuse, but I'd also argue that she's a more legit soul musician than half the shit black people listen to these days.
Anyhoo, Ivan went and put together a sort of mashup of Cat Power's version of Creedence's "Fortunate Son," from her new collection of stuff that wasn't quite good enough to be on the covers album she put out earlier this year, with a song called "Follow the Dollar" by Capone-N-Noriega.
As retarded as it sounds, it actually kinda works.
