Never let it be said that the Department of Homeland Security never did anything for anyone. In addition to locking up some unknown number of Arabs in Gitmo and other foreign prisons, they're currently blocking the god-awful hipster-favorite techno musician MIA from entering the US. Sweet!
Actually, I had read this a while ago, but I guess it's news now that the NME is reporting it. She doesn't let on exactly why she's being barred from entering the US on her MySpace profile, whose headline now reads "IM LOCKED OUT !!!!! THE U.S WONT LET ME IN!!!!!!!!" but like I mentioned in the world's first all-female album deathmatch, her album Arular is full of shouts out to terrorist groups like the LTTE and the PLO.
Serves her right, as far as I'm concerned.
In unrelated news, the Roots played a big show last night at Radio City Music Hall, in New York. Joey from Straight Bangin', the guy that does Status Ain't Hood, and The Assimilated Negro were all there and did reviews. You might want to check them out.
