The settlement those two black guys reached with Starbucks and the city of Philadelphia, or whoever it was with, was the worst kind of virtue-signaling bullshit.
I'm not at all impressed by the fact that, rather than trying to get a million dollars for themselves, so they could ball out, they got $200,000 so some dumbass kid can open up a hood barbershop that'll just end up going out of business anyway, when it gets like six years behind on taxes.
Fuck that shit!
Same goes with the guy who disarmed the Waffle House shooter and raised like $250,000 to bury the victims. Hopefully he'll have some money left over to buy himself a Dodge Charger and a case of Mickey's big mouth (those funeral homes are a rip), but why is he raising money for burials anyway? Is that not covered by Waffle House's insurance? Even if it isn't, what difference does it make how they're buried? They're dead anyway. Dig a hole out behind the Waffle House.
The Starbucks settlement is worse, because they're not even supposed to spend that money themselves, and I'm at a loss for what kind of business someone's gonna start for $200,000, i.e. less money than it takes to ope a Starbucks. The only chain restaurant franchise you can open for that kind of money is a Subway located across the street from another Subway, in a strip mall sandwiched in between a Korean beauty supply and a check-cashing place. Imagine the clientele in a restaurant like that.
