The title of this one is fairly self-explanatory. I read the other day that Amy Schumer might play Barbie in a movie, and I'm at a loss for how this could possibly be a good idea.
The only thing I can think is maybe if it were some cruel satire in which Schumer plays Barbie, but with a messed up body (and also a messed up face), Ken doesn't want to have sex with her, drops her like a bad habit in favor of a Bratz doll, and she ends up losing the Dreamhouse.
But why would she sign up for some shit like that?
No, this must be a movie in which Schumer plays a Barbie with a busted figure in order to send out a message to young viewers that it's not important to have an acceptable body.
Essentially, they'd be taking an iconic figure from our past and ruining it for the purpose of social justice warfare, not unlike this year's Ghostbusters remake, with the difference being that this Barbie movie would be released in Donald Trump's America, where you'd think there would be no place for such BS.
The Ghostbusters remake underperformed at the box office, in part because it was eviscerated by Milo Yiannopoulos at Breitbart. Yiannopoulos was permanently banned by Twitter in retaliation. Now Breitbart CEO Steve Bannon is Trump's chief adviser, his Tom Hagen-style consigliere. It might be necessary for him to intervene in this film's release.
