On the one hand, DMX's insistence, onstage the other day, seemingly apropos of nothing, that he's "never sucked a dick a day in [his] life" is the only appropriate response to the question of whether or not he's ever given another guy a blowski.
On the other hand, it seems oddly specific. Would it not have been enough to point out that he's straight, which, presumably, even in this day and age, would preclude him from doing anything gayer than fuxxing with Elton John's music (something every respectable black man has done at some point in time or another)?
I'm especially concerned because DMX has multiple lyrics about forcing guys to go down on him. Off the top of my head (nullus), there's the line in "What's My Name," where he yells suck my dick and says that people who have been to jail before know it's about to get thick. In another one of his songs, he says some dreaded n-words remind him of a strip club, because every time he comes around he's gotta have his dick sucked.
And there could be more than that. I would never listen to DMX's music of my own volition, even back then, and certainly not now. But for a period of time there you couldn't help but being subjected to it. Believe me, I tried! At the height of his popularity, he was selling more records than Jay Z. If only he hadn't been on crack. Maybe he could have been president of Def Jam. I'm sure the meetings would have been way different.
Could it be that DMX finds it necessary to point out that he's never given a guy a mouth hug because he's participated in various other acts that, while considered perfectly normal and not gay in jail, wouldn't be considered acceptable for straight guys on the outside?
In the context of his barely coherent remarks in the video, which has been making the rounds on Instagram, X seems to imply that other rappers have, in fact, given someone a mouth hug—and perhaps not metaphorically. Like, this might be something that's required to, say, sign with Birdman, or join the Illuminati. This could be part of the reason X never became president of Def Jam.
One problem: If the purpose of clarifying which sex acts he's willing to perform on a guy and which ones he won't is to pat himself on the back for how real he keeps it, how come he doesn't tell us which rappers have been giving blowskis? If he's not willing to dish on the peter-puffers in our midst, why should we believe he isn't one of them?
At the very least, he had to be at the meetings to know this was going on, and he didn't avert his eyes. Eww!
