NY strippers "won" a right to earn minimum wage #ambition
The dirty little secret of strip clubs is that some chicks literally don't make a damn thing, either because they work at a club where you have to pay to go on stage and they barely made enough tips to cover the fee, or they went up for free but they didn't make any tips either because there weren't very many people there or they just plain weren't good enough.
The problem is, the girls who are going home with $8 for an evening's work must not be allowed to undercut the girls who are making the most tips and getting the most dances. Imagine if you had a choice between copping a lapdance from either the best girl in the club, for a premium, or the most desperate girl in the club (who's still at least attractive enough to be a stripper), for a steep discount.
These girls might actually be better off if they were true independent contractors, except that they lack the business sense to demand what they're really worth.
