11-year-old forced to stand on road with sign: I disrespected my parents by twerking
Obviously there's a lot more going on here than the mother trying to protect the daughter from exploiting herself or being taken advantage of.
Theory: The mother used to sell ass back in the day, and seeing the daughter twerk makes her both embarrassed about her own past and afraid that her daughter will one day follow in her footsteps.
That's why the daughter knew, instinctively, to break it down at her very first school dance, and that's why neither of them are at all concerned with her standing on the corner in those shorts -- which I'd say is more of an issue than her popping her ass at a school dance, in a room filled with other kids her age and adult chaperones.
