Lupe Fiasco didn't vote for Barack Obama, because of some shit that took place weeks AFTER the election

Which I'm pretty sure is what's known as a post hoc fallacy, from the Latin phrase post hoc ergo propter hoc, meaning after that therefore because of that. In other words, you can't use some shit that took place way later as an excuse for some shit you did way before. Lupe Fiasco would know that if he went to college, instead of selling heroin for Muslim gangs that are probably somehow involved with the terrorists.

It would save him from trying to claim, as he does in this new song, "Words I Never Said," that the reason he didn't vote for Barack Obama is because Israel bombed the shit out of Gaza, and Obama didn't say anything about it.

And I quote:

Limbaugh is a racist/ Glenn Beck is a racist/Gaza strip was getting bombed, Obama didn't say sh*t/That's why I didn't vote for him/Next one either/ I'm a part of the problem/ My problem is I'm peaceful/ And I believe in the people.

What Lupe Fiasco is referring to is Operation Cast Lead, which began at the very end of 2008, right after Christmas, and ended, rather conveniently for Obama, right before the inauguration, at the end of January '09. It was suggested, on the kind of sites where I get my news, that this was done on purpose, so that Obama would have an excuse not to say shit about it, because he wasn't quite president yet, and it would be imprudent for him to start playing president until he was officially inaugurated, and George W. Bush was probably down in Texas somewhere getting a head start on all of the drinking he planned to do once he wasn't under such strict media scrutiny.

I wrote about this extensively for XXL, and I know Lupe has been up on my writing for XXL from way back, but he'd be forgiven if he missed those posts, because I said some things Peter Rosenberg didn't like, and XXL takes orders from Peter Rosenberg, and so those posts had to be removed.
