Ron Paul helps Ralph Nader "spoil" the election
Ron Paul got a letter from the McCain campaign the other day. He opened and read it. It said they were suckers.
No but really, the McCain campaign recently tried to get Ron Paul to to endorse the McCain-Palin ticket, but Ron Paul wasn't having it. Instead, he urged his supporters to support a third party candidate.
He didn't say which one, though, leaving his supporters to argue amongst themselves and decided who they're gonna throw their support behind. I know a lot of them aren't as crazy about Bob Barr, one of the main libertarian candidates running this year.
Ron Paul, meanwhile, has been making public appearances with Ralph Nader, and yesterday, the two of them were on the Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer on CNN. And you get the idea that Ron Paul's aim in this is mainly to take away votes from Ralph Nader.
After the jump is a video of Ron Paul and Ralph Nader on the Situation Room. There's a great moment early on in the video, where Wolf Blitzer asks Ron Paul whether he's gonna vote for Ralph Nader. He says no, but he's gonna try to get Ralph Nader as many votes as possible, because it will take away votes from Barack Obama.
Wolf Blitzer says, "Oh, so that's your goal here, to take away votes from Barack Obama?"
Then Ron Paul's like, "Um, no. My main goal is to change the system!"
Ralph Nader just kinda sits there.
