Rage Against the Machine forced to perform acapulco at RNC

Rageagainstthemachinejoinscrowdrnc

I suppose Rage Against the Machine should have known they weren't gonna be able to perform for very long at this year's RNC.

I mean, if Amy Goodman's old, palsied ass was getting roughed up by 5-0 as if she was a young black dude, supposedly because they figured she might incite a riot (clearly, they've never tried to listen to Democracy Now!), this obviously wasn't gonna turn out very well for them.

I've been to two Rage Against the Machine shows in the past couple of years. At Lollapalooza, a few weeks ago, they famously had to keep stopping the show so people wouldn't crowd the stage as much. And I'm pretty sure the situation was even worse when I saw them at Rock the Bells, last year. It's just that Rock the Bells draws a much gullier crowd than Lollapalooza.

As it turns out, Rage Against the Machine weren't even allowed to take the stage last night at the RNC. Instead, they went out into the crowd and performed acapulco. A site called Above the Fold has a report and a pretty cool video.
