Insignificant celebrities also die in threes
I was checking Twitter just now, and I see one of the black guys from the Dave Matthews Band, and the guy who played Sho'nuff in the Last Dragon died recently.
Ohio Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones isn't dead just yet, but they're saying it's only gonna be a matter of time.
To wit:
Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, D-Ohio, is reported to have suffered an aneurysm and is not expected to recover, according to CBS affiliate WOIO in Cleveland. (via)
The article on Tubbs Jones, whom I can't claim to have been familiar with, says she was one of these black politicians who was riding with Hillary Clinton earlier this year, only to switch to Barack Obama once it became clear he was gonna win the nomination.
Which just so happened to be the topic of a good story in the Times Magazine the other day. It's one of those stories that reminds you of just how fucked this world truly is - and not because I give a rat's ass about whether black people support Barack Obama.
Speaking of white people's favorite black people, they say the guy from the Dave Matthews Band, who was the saxophonist for them, died from complications stemming from an ATV accident that took place back in June. Ouch!
If he was in Kool and the Gang, this never would have happened!
Finally, not even Wikipedia knows what the fuck happened to the guy who played Sho'nuff. The part of me that always wants to think the worst about things (i.e. the majority of me) wants to think it may have had something to do with crack. But who knows? He may have just been that old. It's been a long time since the Last Dragon came out.
After the jump are some great (and great quality) clips from the Last Dragon, which I haven't seen since I was a kid. I might need to cop that on DVD.
