Why David Banner is the way he is

David Banner

In this interlude from David Banner's new The Greatest Story Ever Told (wait, I thought that was going to be the title of Saigon's album?), he calls an uncle of his on the phone and has him describe a time when he had to give a two year-old David Banner a ride home from Chicago to Mississippi.

Baby David Banner wasn't feeling well and wouldn't sit right in the car, so his uncle had to resort to desperate measures. I would describe what he did, but it's one of those things you really ought to hear for yourself. Suffice it to say it's the craziest thing I've heard all week. And this has been kind of a crazy week.

And after the jump is a clip of David Banner on BET's Hip-Hop vs. America 2, showing why he's come to be considered one of hip-hop's foremost activists.
