Life imitates the TechNigga video

Loren Feldman

If you notice, the news cycle has this odd way of ruining what might otherwise be good opportunities for the black community to wallow in feigned moral outrage.

For example, a year or so ago, just as the Don Imus controversy was heating up, it was announced that the nappy headed ho who claimed she got raped by the Duke lacrosse team was making that shit up.

Damn.

And just a few weeks ago, the announcement of the R. Kelly verdict somehow managed to take place around the same time it was reported some 13 year-old hoo-er down in Florida has been purposely trapping grown-ass men via MySpace.

The fuck?

It's almost as if this shit isn't a matter of coincidence.

The latest such incident involves Loren Feldman's infamous TechNigga video. If you haven't heard about it yet, you're probably gonna be hearing about it in the coming days and weeks. From what I understand, this shit is being reported on the evening news, and on those ghetto morning radio shows that were so integral to the Jena 6 movement. And you know what that means.

Yep, once again it looks like I'm late to the party on one of these huge black protests. Even though I posted on TechNigga way the fuck back when the shit first hit the Internets, I might seriously need to see about tuning in to one of the ghetto morning shows. Or at least getting on one of these email lists.

The other day, it was announced that Loren Feldman's company, 1938 Media, had signed a deal with Verizon Wireless to distribute his videos over their VCast network, supposedly for $3 million. But then word got out that this was the same Loren Feldman behind the infamous TechNigga video, and Verizon rescinded the deal.

One of the main groups behind the protest was a group called Project Islamic Hope. Hmm...

But here's the thing. One of the main products Feldman imagined in the video, ho-trackr, has somehow managed to come true the same week this controversy is popping off.

No, really.

In the video, Feldman plays a character named Le'Ron Feldma'n who talks about this software called ho-trackr. The way ho-trackr works is, a pimp implants some sort of GPS device in his hoes, to keep track of their location, and then the hoes report their activity back to him using Twitter.

Well, I was checking some black tech sites (some tech nigga sites, if you will) just now, and guess what I came across? A post about how Karrine "Superhead" Steffans is now on Twitter.

Wow. just... wow.

So far it looks like all she's posting is advertisements for her book, but she's only been on it for a few days now. It's only a matter of time before she starts sending out messages about which rappers she's blowing. Just watch.
