The Internets love the 1990s
According to Last Week's Poll
Every now and again, when there's a bunch of new rap albums out, or when I don't feel like coming up with a better idea for one of these polls, I'm gonna run one of these polls where you pick your favorite new album. This is the second one of these I've run this year, and the first one with this Canada-style runoff voting system, where you can pick up to three albums.
Note that since you could pick up to three albums, the percentages don't add up to 100. I didn't bother to add them up to see what they add up to, and I'm not sure exactly how this works. My bad if you find this especially bothersome. My suggestion: write an angry letter to your congressman and/or walk into a fast food restaurant asking to speak to the manager.
The results:
Best new album?
- The Roots - Rising Down (45.5%)
- Prodigy - HNIC Part 2 (19.1%)
- Atmosphere - When Life Gives You Lemons (18.7%)
- Kidz In The Hall - The In Crowd (18.3%)
- Buckshot & 9th Wonder - The Formula (14.9%)
- AZ - Undeniable (14.0%)
- Fat Ray & Black Milk - The Setup (11.5%)
- CRAC Knuckles - The Piece Talks (7.7%)
- 7L & Esoteric - Esoteric vs. Japan (4.7%)
- Little Vic - Each Dawn I Die (3.4%)
Alas, you have to wonder how many people other than myself actually spent a significant amount of time listening to all 10 of these albums. Sometimes I forget I'm one of the few people's who's fortunate to be able to wake up at the ass crack of noon most days, and still start drinking as soon as the clock strikes 5 p.m., even though that would be like drinking at noon for most people.
My choice for top three albums on this list: CRAC Knuckles, Little Vic, and Fat Ray & Black Milk.
This week's poll, which I just put up, is similar to last week's, except with non-rap albums instead of rap albums. I shudder to think what the results are gonna be like.
