Justin Timberlake is black people's favorite cracka-ass cracka
According to Last Week's Poll
Black people, by and large, don't really dig on white music, but there's always been certain white acts that black people seem to love for whatever reason - whether it's because they were able to mimic black musicians to such an extent that you could actually believe they were black, or because they specialized in the kind of milquetoast, inoffensive bullshit favored by people who clearly suffer from some sort of PTSD.
Last week's poll sought to determine which is black people's favorite white act. Here are the results.
Black people's favorite white group?
- Justin Timberlake (101 votes)
- Robin Thicke (58 votes)
- John Mayer (38 votes)
- Coldplay (29 votes)
- Michael McDonald (28 votes)
- Spandau Ballet (12 votes)
- Dave Matthews Band (10 votes)
- George Michael (5 votes)
Surprises in these results, at least as far as I'm concerned:
-I thought the knock against Justin Timberlake, as put forth by some jigs who were upset that he was nominated for an NAACP Image Award (seriously, wtf?) was that no one actually likes Justin Timberlake; He's just on the radio constantly. Clearly somebody does though, right?
-I thought black people had more love for Coldplay than that. After all, Chris Martin (and I don't mean Primo) has been on both a Kanye West album and a Jay-Z album. Not even Justin Timberlake himself can claim as much. Er, at least not yet. I guess, for what it's worth, you don't actually hear Coldplay joints on the "black" radio station ad nauseum, like you do Justin Timberlake and Robin Thicke.
-Speaking of which, lest we forget, there was a time when they used to play George Michael records on black radio more than probably any other crack-ass cracka evar. Is it a sign of my own aging that I expected him to do way better in this poll than he did? Also, is this what Justin Timberlake and Robin Thicke have to expect for their careers in the long run, at least in the black community? Hmm...

The results of this week's poll, which I just put up a few minutes ago, should be especially interesting. Hopefully, plenty of people vote in it. Nullus. I couldn't get it up yesterday [II], because I was too busy taking a moment of silence to mark the 60th anniversary of the end of the holocaust.
Never again...
Also, speaking of cracka-ass crackas, after the jump is the new Kanye West video, with the fellow from Coldplay. I notice in the first verse (I really should listen to Graduation, if only for research purposes), Kanye mentions how he's gang affiliated. I'd like to hear all of those people who complained that my post about the soft white underbelly of Chicago hip-hop was bullshit try to explain that.
