How can we forget?

As you may have noticed, I've been remiss in discussing the new albums by Kanye West and 50 Cent, both of which hit stores today. My bad. I would have, but I haven't even had a chance to hear either of them yet, because my laptop is busted and so I haven't been able to steal either of them. And of course most labels don't send me promo copies of shit, I guess because they're afraid I might give it an unfair review.
Pitchfork is running reviews of both of them today. They gave the Fiddy album a 4.9, while the Kanye album rated an 8.7 as well as a coveted Best New Music designation. I'm surprised they didn't have the legendary Sean "Hurricane" Fennessey review the Kanye, but I guess he doesn't work there anymore.
And of course it's also the sixth anniversary of 9/11, which I find rather anticlimactic coming on the heels of last year's big fifth anniversary, not to mention the fact that there hasn't been anything like 9/11 here in the US since then. I know bin Laden's got a new mixtape out to remind people of his big day, but I don't know. Certainly I don't want to encourage him to do anything, but I'd say his status as a bogeyman is definitely in decline, not unlike your boy Fiddy.
In case you missed it last year, here's my stunning multimedia display from XXL. I didn't bother to check the videos to see if they still work, but the text should still be good. Er, readable.
