Death really does come in threes, doesn't it?

First there was the greatest rapper of all time, Stack Bundles, then there was Saigon's career, and now, perhaps worst of all, I just read that Frankie from the Real World San Diego bought the proverbial farm.

(I suppose another way you could look at it is that Frankie, Pedro Zamora ('90s babies, do your homework), and Real World creator Mary Ellis-Bunim constitute three dead Real World figures, but I'm sure there's some statute of limitations when it comes to the dead celebrities rule. If anything, it might mean that there's some Saturday Night Live-style Real World curse. Hmm...)

You'll recall that Frankie suffered from Cystic Fibrosis, though she never really appeared sick on the show. The thing is, I think she craved the attention that came from being sick, so she would do stupid shit like pretend to be a cutter.

I remember there was one episode where she locked herself in the bathroom with a shiny, scary-looking knife and waited for however long it took for someone to realize she was holed up in the bathroom. Then she burst from the bathroom in the most dramatic fashion possible, accidentally dropping the knife in front of whoever it was that needed to take a piss, and, of course the camera.

Ah, the good old days.

I wrote about the Real World San Diego fairly extensively back when it aired, over three years ago. I just read over my summary of the first episode for old times' sake, and I think it holds up pretty well. I was obviously putting more effort into posting pictures, not to mention coming up with weird sexual humor back in those days.
