Kanye West - Can't Tell Me Nothing: Track Review

Kanye West had been on such a roll as of late. His verse on the remix of Ghostface Killah's "Back Like That," from More Fish, was fucking hilarious. That song him and The Game did about broke-ass video chicks? Brilliant. Even his "remix" of Rich Boy's "Throw Some Ds," which he obviously didn't produce, was one of my favorite things he's done.
It's a shame, then, that he's decided to kick off the publicity build-up for his forthcoming Graduation album (again with the dumbass college metaphors) rappin' over some shit that sounds like a throwaway from the last Rick Rawls album, but (of course) with a sped-up vocal sample in the place of the usual screwed and chopped drug dealer mumbo jumbo.
I don't know anybody other than maybe Sean "Hurricane" Fennessy who thought the rappin' on either of his first two albums was a good idea, but this whole "I'm a complex individual because I possess common sense, but I often act as if I don't" routine is beginning to get extra stale, not to mention his perpetual bitterness about not being smart enough to graduate from an HBCU.
