Don Imus: "That's some nappy headed hoes there!"

In case you haven't heard, notorious old crank Don Imus ruffled a few feathers the other day by calling the Rutgers University women's basketball team a buncha nappy headed hoes. It was during a broadcast of his long-running morning show, which is also simulcast on MSNBC.
Of course I don't even follow men's basketball, let alone women's basketball, but I guess this was the finals of the women's NCAA tournament, between Rutgers and Tennessee. It's hard to tell with goddamn YouTube, but you get the idea that the Tennessee team was more "light skinted," and thus Imus was remarking that he found them better-looking. He even went so far as to draw a reference to the Spike Lee film School Daze, though he couldn't think of the name.
Here's the exchange between Imus and Bernard McGuirk:
IMUS: That's some rough girls from Rutgers. Man, they got tattoos and --
BERNARD McGUIRK: Some hard-core hos.
IMUS: That's some nappy-headed hos there. I'm gonna tell you that now, man, that's some -- woo. And the girls from Tennessee, they all look cute, you know, so, like -- kinda like -- I don't know.
McGUIRK: A Spike Lee thing.
IMUS: Yeah.
McGUIRK: The Jigaboos vs. the Wannabes -- that movie that he had.
There's a video of the whole thing after the jump.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Al Sharpton is already on the case and is calling for Imus to be dropped from MSNBC, and probably from his radio station as well. I wasn't even aware that the Reverend Al had his own radio talk show, but apparently he does and Don Imus will be his guest this afternoon. Hopefully, someone will get the audio of that and post on the Internets later on tonight or tomorrow.
