MLK = Best black leader evar

According to Last Week's Poll
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day isn't much of a holiday once you aren't in school anymore and don't work for the post office or some such, now is it? I just so happen to be off from the BGM today, but not because of civil rights or anything like that. Maybe I'll take the rest of the day off from blogging as well.
In the mean time, peep the results from last week's poll.
Best black leader?
- Martin Luther King, Jr. (279 votes)
- Malcolm X (139 votes)
- Louis Farrakhan (19 votes)
- Al Sharpton (15 votes)
- Jesse Jackson (6 votes)
Perhaps unsurprisingly, MLK beat the pants off the competition in this poll to determine who was the best black leader evar. Malcolm X, who obviously benefited from having a pretty good film based on his life, came second with about half as many votes.
None of the rest of the contenders got very many votes at all, though I thought it was interesting to see Louis Farrakhan get more votes than both Al and Jesse. Was that because he did the Million Man March? Sympathy because he might be dying soon?
I was going to do another poll this week on the best young black leaders, but I couldn't think of any other than myself. Does that make Bol the de facto leader of young black America? Think about it.

Coincidentally (I'm sure), tonight marks the season premiere of one of my favorite shows evar, MTV's My Super Sweet 16. Hopefully it's not on at the same time as ego trip's (White) Rapper Show. Check the trailer after the jump. I'm pretty sure the black chick is Jermaine Dupri's daughter.
