Rap Song of the Year: Jim Jones "We Fly High"

For the next few weeks I'm gonna be running this feature where I look back at some of the best and worst things that happened in 2006.
The Year in Review 2006
2006 really wasn't that bad of a year for rap albums, especially compared to the past few years. But for the longest time, there really wasn't any single great rap single. At the end of the summer, XXL ran a poll on which was the best rap song of the summer. The Game's "One Blood," which came out relatively late in the summer, ran away with it.
"One Blood" is indeed a great song, and as far as I'm concerned the race for best rap song of '06 was between it and Jim Jones' "We Fly High." If you think about it, both of them are fairly impressive feats. While "One Blood" proved the Game could make it out without Dre and Fiddy, "We Fly High" pretty much ruined Jay-Z's long-awaited comeback campaign.
Kingdom Come may have sold 600,000 copies its first week out (or did it?), but who gives a shit. No one really likes it, and it already seems to have faded quite a bit from public consciousness. Witness its subsequent plummet in album sales over the past few weeks. Meanwhile, "We Fly High" has been positively ubiquitous this fall and winter - even here in St. Louis.
Disagree? Feel free to post your own rap song of the year in the comments. And nobody better say "Show Me What You Got."
