The hipster party returns

It's been a minute since I heard about one of these, but it could be because school was out for the summer.
AUSTIN, Texas - A group of first-year law students at the University of Texas at Austin has been chided by the dean for participating in a “Ghetto Fabulous”-themed costume party and posting pictures from it online.
The festivities included first year law students walking around in Afro wigs, clutching 40s of malt liquor, and rocking fake gold chains with nameplates bearing traditionally black and hispanic names.
The hipsters themselves claim they had no idea black students would be offended by such a party, but come to find out UT has a history of racist events, including the egging of a Martin Luther King, Jr. statue and "fraternity parties where blacks were portrayed in Jim Crow racial stereotypes."
You'll recall that earlier this year I did a story on the hipster movement, including an influential special report called What is a hipster? which discussed hipster parties as well as other aspects of the hipster movement.
Also, I didn't see this mentioned in any news reports on the incident, but Austin, TX was the scene of the infamous R. Kelly singalong, one of the first big hipster parties to take place outside of the New York area.
