US is the new Mexico

Is it possible that in less than a generation this country could go from being, you know, America - mostly white, about 12% black - to being like half hispanic? For years now I've read the oft-quoted statistic that by 2050 (I think), the US would be made up mostly of minorities. But now I'm hearing that the US could be mostly hispanic by the time I'm 50.
According to a recent study by the US Census Bureau, as reported in the Washington Post, almost half of all children in this country under the age of five are ethnic or racial minorities, most of those being hispanic. Given this data, a little Ron Rogers-style mathemagic reveals that the US population could be mostly hispanic as soon as 2030.
If all of the Mexicans move to the US, what's there to suggest that the US doesn't then become Mexico? Not to be glib here, but could it be that Mexico is the huge, festering shithole that it is today because there's so many Mexicans there? I bet if there were half as many of them, there'd be that much more food to go around. The US is already teetering at the brink of economic collapse. The last thing we need is more children.
Also, not to use "facts" and "statistics" to denigrate another group of people, but hispanics are the least educated group in this country. It's why any discussion of immigration here devolves so quickly into "Fuck you, nigger!" and my favorite, "Why aren't you attacking the Jews?" The US is already one of the dumbest countries in the world. I shudder to think what it will be like 25 years from now. How will I ever make my living as a writer?
