Hard work is for suckers (nullus)

Ethered by a hard day's work

Can the United States, which already has black people, really stand another permanent underclass?

Mexicans may work like proverbial Hebrew slaves today because they're under the impression that if they work hard enough, they might one day be able to own their own sweatshop, just like the d-bags that owned the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory. That is, after all, the American Dream.

But as many of us who've actually been here for a while can attest, that couldn't be any further from the truth. If you're lucky, you might not spend your entire life in abject poverty, but there is no way to "make it" in this country. A child born today is less likely to move up in social class than a child born at any other point in American history.

What's there to suggest that the millions of illegal immigrants currently entering this country will ever build anything other than a wire cage to hold their chickens? Due to the inherent nature of sweatshops, I can't imagine that very many of them will. What's going to happen to these people, and our country, once they begin to realize there really ain't shit here for them?

We could be setting ourselves up here.
