Spike's first hit in 19 years (nullus)

First of all, I want to apologize to you all for there only being one update up to this point today.
As mentioned in the comments to the previous post, I spent most of today on the floor crying because I couldn't think of anything to write. After over 1500 posts on this blog alone, not to mention two posts written in the space of about 30 min. this morning at 5 a.m., without even drinking any coffee, I just couldn't do it anymore.
I only mention this because I'm sure the tendency will be to believe that I had to work early in the morning and that afterwords I had a bit too much fried chicken for lunch and immediately fell asleep for about 6 hours. That's definitely not what happened.
Speaking of people whose careers have taken a turn, I see the new Spike Lee joint (nullus) Inside Man finished first in this weekend's box office with $29, besting estimates it would finish with somewhere between $25 and $28 million (though it's likely the studios padded the numbers a bit, because they're run by the Jews).
I thought about seeing it this weekend, but I ended up seeing the Eugene Jarecki film Why We Fight, because I'm boring like that. Also, as speculated in the comments to a good half of the posts here, I'm not actually black. Still, I might check it out at some point this week. I hear Jodie Foster's good in it. And hot.
Interestingly enough, this weekend's take constitutes not only Spike's best opening ever but also Denzel's, though I may be reading that bit of news wrong. I'm not that smart. Unless I'm forgetting something, this might be Spike's first qualified hit since Malcolm X, way back in the late paleolithic era.
That said, you'd have to categorize this more along the lines of that movie Woody Allen did with the kid from American Pie. The studios may still not be willing to spare too many funds for ol' Spike if he strays too far from the reservation. She Hate Me, ridonkulous as it was, may have been the end of an era.
