Kanye West: "Jay's like my Jewish father"

In reading Toure's book Never Drank the Kool-Aid, which I reviewed the other day, I noticed that the versions of the stories in the book contained a few interesting tidbits that had somehow managed to be left out of the versions published in magazines like Rolling Stone.
For example, a 2004 Rolling Stone story on Kanye West - the one where he purchases this bizarre-looking Jesus piece from Jacob the Jeweler - contains this bit about him signing to Roc-A-Fella:
West signed with Roc-A-Fella in 2002 and developed a close relationship with his boss. "I still look up to Jay like a father figure," West says. "You know how Jewish families show their sons how to make money and keep the wealth going in the family? Jay's like my Jewish father."
Um, what's that supposed to mean?
It's no wonder Kanye West's virulent anti-semitism is arguably the best kept secret in hip-hop right now, with magazine's like Rolling Stone complicit in covering it up. What's it going to take to break the media's silence on this issue - him purchasing a Louis Vuitton skin lamp?
