Something entirely unlikely

Have black women, in their latest effort to further denigrate the black man, finally taken things a bit too far?
On the outside chance that you haven't heard, this weekend will see the release of a film titled Something New, in which a rich black woman who can't find herself a "suitable" brother ends up marrying a white landscaper.
A white landscaper, eh?
Here's the thing: Thanks to, among other things, the war on drugs, the prison-industrial complex, and the special tax credit corporations receive for employing black women, there does exist a large and growing segment of the black female population for whom finding a spouse with a similar level of income is entirely unlikely. No one's denying that.
But I wonder what's the likelihood of the vast majority of these broads hooking up with white guys, "landscaper" or otherwise. Take a gander at the following statistics, which I gleaned from a recent article in an important newspaper.
- 42.4 percent of African American = not married
- The higher their socioeconomic level, the less likely they are to wed
- Only 5 percent of black women marry outside their race
Doesn't sound like black chicks are doing much hooking up with anything!
Which is not to say that black women shouldn't be allowed to create such fantastic scenarios on film, if it's gonna make them feel that much better about themselves. But the fact that I've yet to see any press call into question the ridonkulous nature of this film's premise anywhere other than, of course, jimbrahizrael.com, can only be attributed to an anti-black male bias in the mainstream media.
