Dying alone

Branching off from yesterday's post about Something New, I thought it might be instructive to clarify a few things.
Not to suggest that this site is frequented by the kind of people that would form an opinion about a post without actually reading it, but looking at the comments to yesterday's post, I get the idea that there may be, at the very least, some comprehension issues.
Things not contained in yesterday's post:
- Any discussion of black men in interracial relationships
- Whether or not black women face some double standard
- Whether or not almost all black women are obese
Which all sounds like a lot of projecting to me.
Granted, I've yet to actually see the film, but its title alone seems to suggest that black women may reach a certain point at which they've grown tired of black men and will all up and decide to marry a white man. What my post suggests is that this has never happened and is not likely to at any time in the future.
The statistics bear this out:
- 42.4 percent of all black women = about to die alone
- Rich black women = even more likely to be spinsters
- Only 5% of black women marry outside their race
Are we to presume that so many black women are choosing to die alone out of some sense of loyalty to black men? Certainly, it must have occurred to at least some of these broads to consider marrying outside of their race before this weekend.
