Aaron McGruder = Bill Cosby?

So this weekend, just in time for the holiday, the Cartoon Network aired a controversial episode of Aaron McGruder's "The Boondocks" in which Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. awakens from a coma in 2006 and calls a group of ign'ant black people the dreaded n-word.
via Nah Right, here's a video of him discussing the episode on Nightline:
Admittedly, I've never actually seen the show myself other than the clips featured in this video, nor have I had a chance to check out the comic strip.
Bomani Jones saw it though and... um, wasn't amused. The balding one sayeth:
It seemed like a pointed attack against the underclass instead of a critique of the entirety of post-Movement black America. Just more black bourgeoise bullshit that would make Bill Cosby smile.
Oh no! Also, it's suggested that McGruder might have some self-loathing issues...
Like I said, I'm not too familiar with the dude's work, but this is the first time I've seen the Bill Cosby card being pulled on him. Has anybody else picked up that kind of vibe from him?
