The Real World: Austin - Episode 21: Episode Summary

The episode begins with Wes in a bar talking to Wren. Whatever he's blathering about, she apparently didn't want to hear any of it. Johanna and Rachel stand nearby and take it all in. From what I recall of the previews, he'll attempt to use Johanna to make Wren jealous of him.

One of the Fruits from the film society calls and asks them to come down to the Austin Film Society for a screening party. Wes decides right away that he's not going, because it's a Friday. And then when they're about to leave, the other frat boy realizes Wes isn't going and decides he's not going, either.

The screening is for the film Dig!, about the Brian Jonestown Massacre and the Dandy Warhols. The director of the film (some woman) happened to be in attendance, which is impressive but not really. Meanwhile, Wes goes to a bar with Wren and manages to move his hand across her ass, which is apparently caught in Paris Hilton-style night vision.

Sidenote: Has anybody here seen the movie Hype!, about the Seattle scene in the late '80s/early '90s? That was kinda cool.

So the next day, or several weeks later, the director lady (who's sporting some wicked THO, but otherwise is fairly lesbian-looking) stops by to check out the gang's SXSW film. Nehemiah attempts tp show off by holding the mouse while film runs, as if that does anything. Afterwards, the lesbian offers him a position as an assistant to her assistant editor.

Sidenote: These new U2 iPod commercials are fucking insane.

So Wes takes Johanna out to the bar, where Wren is, and makes out with her. Insanely enough, this actually convinces her to have sex with him. Shit! I bet it was good, too. Gotdamn MTV.

Nehemiah, who's pissed because he has no idea how to edit a film, somehow manages to get locked up, but it's not revealed how or why.

NEXT WEEK: What the fuck happened to Negrodamus? And how will they ever finish the film, which I thought was done back before they went to Cancun, or wherever it was they went?
