Jay-Z buying The Source?

The latest buzz on the mean streets of the Internets is that Jay-Z may be teaming up with the original Tall Israeli Lyor Cohen and Steve "Interscope" Stoute to purchase floundering hip-hop bible The Source.
Women's Wear Daily (seriously):
Is Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter looking to follow former partner Damon Dash into the magazine business? According to buzz making the rounds Thursday, Carter is said to be considering making a joint bid for hip-hop title The Source, which faces legal action from its landlord and major creditor for failure to pay rent and loans. Carter likely would team up in the bid with two top music executives, Warner Music Group's Lyor Cohen and Interscope's Steve Stoute, said two former employees of the magazine and a source at Def Jam records.
XXL publisher Harris Publications is also rumored to be interested, but I guess there's a lot of legal mess that needs to be sorted out before the mag can actually be sold.
I suppose anything would be better than brothers in semi-whiteness Dave Mays and Ray Ray Benzino, but having three of the top TIs in the industry (not to mention the fact that Jay is still somewhat of an artist) running a magazine would obviously pose a multitude of conflicts of interest.
And I'm sure Dame Dash will just be pissed.
