Funkmaster Flex works for Castro?

SOHH recently got a chance to holler at Funkmaster Flex and ask him whether or not he takes payola. Unsurprisingly, he completely denied everything.

"People always wanna accuse me of payola-taking money for records," Flex told SOHH.com. "What do people pay for records? People have thrown around the figure of $2,500... $5,000. I work for Ford, Turtle Wax, yahoo.com, Castro Oil. I do marketing, they sponsor my tours."

This reminds me of when Whitney Houston said she didn't do crack because it was too "cheap." Also, I'm pretty sure he meant to say Castrol Oil.

Funker continued:

I'm a face for Castro Oil, the first African American to do that. Ford, I customize vehicles for them, they sponsor my tours. I do marketing for them. They sponsor my tour shows, my racing dates. Yahoo.com plays my videos, my TV shows. I get $100,000 to customize cars for people like Castro. What am I doing with $2,500? I don't jeopardize what I do to do stuff like that."

I guess here's my thing: Would Funkmaster Flex even be out here giving interviews to random websites if his career wasn't in jeapordy? After all, he's the first black face for "Castro Oil," which, now that I think about it, could be that half-priced oil that Fidel wanted to send to the black community a few months ago.

Also, it's not like this is the first time he's been accused of taking payola. And the amount I heard was more than $5,000.
