Is Maxwell gay?

via Stone's new blog The Couch Sessions, I see that Sony has delayed the release of Maxwell's new album, Black Summer's Night, allegedly over fears that the album's many homosexual overtones may alienate his core female fan base, though the official word is that he wants to rerecord a few tracks and work on a few of the arrangements.

I wonder though why they're worried so much considering the average black chick ain't got much in the way of gaydar anyway?
