K-Mart knowingly employs sex offenders?

I remember the first day I started working at the Big Gay Mart, it was myself this teenager kid that doesn't work there anymore and this older (like mid 40s mabye) guy... we'll just call him Chris. I was standing there minding my own business learning how to use the dumbass cash register, when this dude "Chris" walked up out of nowhere and started pressing buttons on my shit. I was like, "Whoa man, what the fuck?" He was like, "No man, it's alright. I'm just showing you how to lock your cash register. You have to keep it locked at all times when you aren't using it." Later on, after he had walked off to go bother somebody else, the teenager kid came up to me and was like, "Watch out for that guy, he's a sex offender."

At that point, it still hadn't clicked to me that that teenager kid might have known some shit that I didn't. I just assumed that when he called him a sex offender, he was referring to the fact that the guy was obviously gay, you know, in the classical sense. Throughout the holidays, from before Christmas up to a couple of days after New Years, I started to notice weird shit about this dude. First of all, whenever people would come through with little kids, he would always try to engage them in some sort of conversation and then try to get them to give him a high five. Also, where as all of the other employees would park their cars in the back of the lot, he would park his big white van right up front, because he didn't want anybody fucking with it.

After the beginning of the year, he went away for a while. I know at one point he mentioned something about having to go on tour with his singing group (I'm not going to tell you which one he is, to protect his anonymity), but I'm pretty sure that was just for a weekend. Rumours started to spread that they didn't want him working there because they knew he was a sex offender, but that they didn't want to fire him either, so they were just going to not schedule him in hopes that he would eventually quit. Then one day during Easter weekend, when a lot of people had called off, management called him back in to work for a couple of days.

It's likely that, assuming this guy really is a sex offender, he didn't mention this fact on his application or during his interview, but then again I can't imagine that there's anybody in the store, from regular floor associates up to the top levels of management (with the possible exception of a few people who can't speak English), who aren't aware of this dude's situation.

ALSO: This particular K-Mart is right next door to a Chuck E. Cheese's.
