Vote or Die is silly

I know I'm not the only one who's tired of these dumb fucking celebrities telling me how badly I need to go vote.* On the way home from work this morning, I even heard a version of that song "Nolia Clap" where Juvenile (who has whole songs about beating the shit out of women) lets me know that it's absolutely imperative that I make it out to the polls Nov. 2. Riiight.

I can't imagine that this crap is going to make even one person who wouldn't have already voted anyway vote. It's just an opportunity for whatever liberal group is behind this to have some non-threating jig dance in their advertisements and for P. Diddy to throw his hat into the political arena not unlike Russell Simmons has done in the last several years because, being P. Diddy of course, he has to fuck up everything. Broadway and marathon running just weren't enough. Wouldn't it be that much cooler if George Soros, or whoever else is bankrolling this shit, bought a bunch of ad time and used it to show a video for that new Immortal Technique and Mos Def song ("bin Laden didn't blow up the projects / It was you nigga / Tell the truth nigga"). That would be some truly gully shit. That shit would get some jigs and spics (the 3 who aren't convicted felons) out to the polls.

If I was involved with this shit, I'd change the name of the campaign to "Kill Dick Cheney," with the idea being that should him and GDM actually lose this year's election, the news would be enough to cause his pacemaker, or whatever it is that's keeping that creep alive, to short out and he'd actually drop dead right there on the spot. The TV commercials would be an actual dramatization of this happening and a fade to black with the words "Kill Dick Cheney." The shirts would be similar, except that the word "Kill" would be in red and "Dick Cheney" would be in black. I know I'd buy one, and I wouldn't be caught dead in one of those "Vote or Die" shirts.

If the people behind "Vote or Die" really care that much about getting out the vote, then why haven't they come out with something like this? Is the fate of the universe (yes, it's that serious) really going to come down to a matter of political correctness? Kill Dick Cheney!

*Note that I didn't say I was tired of celebrities telling me who to vote for. You only ever really see these dumb white Republican motherfuckers (redundancy, I know) complaining about shit like that.
