The Real World: Philadelphia - Episode 5: Episode Summary

After last week's barn burner of an episode, this was bound to be somewhat of a letdown. But look at it on the bright side: At least there weren't any shots of gay guys' naked asses this week!

So this week's episode is pretty much concerned with the aftermath of last week's whole "Karimjob getting frisked" controversy intercut with them going to work for Jon Bon Jovi's arena league football team. It was kinda amusing to watch the Kafudge walk around pissed all episode while his roommates had meetings about him behind his back, RW New Orleans David-style, but nothing too exciting really came of it and at the end him and MJ end up making up with each other all phony like they always do on this show.

The episode begins with some footage of incidents that happened in the days following the incident in the typical "highly questionable chronology" editing style that's come to be associated with (B)MP. Basically, Kanutscrape calls and whines to all of his "boyz in the ghetto" while the rest of the gang gossips about him whenever he's not around. MJ and Landon go out to a bar, where MJ gets a bar stool thrown at him and then, on the way home, some people throw CDs at them from a car and tell them that they suck. Kabalsweat hears about it and responds by telling MJ that "Karma is a bitch" and telling Shavonda that he hopes MJ gets 4 more bar stools thrown at him.

So he's still got some issues.

Later on, a box of Philly Soul jerseys show up and the group finds out what their job is going to be. They're invited to check out a game (ooh!) and of they show up acting waaayyy too excited to be watching a fucking arena league football game. Karamo opts to drive home and ends up taking the group on a little scenic route tour through the ghetto, where he feels at home with his peeps. He drives extra slow because he's looking for the corners where gay jigs go for "dogging," which creeps the group out because crackheads keep walking up to the car and tapping on the windows.

Here's basically everything else that happens (because I didn't really care for this episode): The group has a little meeting about Kadicklick and MJ which the Kafudge walks in on; they go to fan appreciation day at the Wachovia Center, where they meet Bon Jovi and find out they're building a playground (ooh, way to give back to the community!); and Kabuggery gets drunk and decides to make up with MJ, giving this drunken, incoherent speech ("How really we are?") on the street outside the Se(a)men Center. Whatever.

Next Week: MJ fucks Sara. I hope they got some good footage.
