Tall Israelis really are running this rap shit

Sorry (?) about the 4 posts in 1 day steez, but, according to Sean,* the song "The Rape Over" from Mos' new LP The New Danger, which, you'll recall, contains the line "Tall Israelis are running this rap shit," among other "controversial" statements, has been deleted from future pressings of the album by his label, Geffen. Hopefully, this isn't the last we hear of this.
*When that kid doesn't like your album, you know it's not any good.

I'm not going to update the post or anything (I've had enough blogging for the day!), but it should probably also be noted that Sean calls Mos an anti-Semite in his review over at Neumu and then goes on to castigate him further saying, "Surely he understands that there's no difference between anti-Semitism and racism!"
I don't know about all that.

Funny that line about anti-semitism was added by my editor...slipped by me when I checked the edit. It's kind of wrong.
What are the ethics of post thievery, by the way?

>What are the ethics of post thievery, by the way?
Probably kinda like the futility of bringing up ethics at the BC dot C.
I can't believe editors can actually insert random shit into your reviews like that. I insert my own bullshit into my reviews.

This is probably what Mos is referring to. It's not as if he said "all Jews are involved in a conspiracy to take black money." However, Jews are successful in the music industry just as they are successful in a lot of other industries, there's no reason they shouldn't be.

Good point, esco. They're probably not all tall though.

um,its a shot at lior cohen, former head of def jam. He runs the rap game, alot of people dont like him, and hes a tall israeli.
not anti semitism....

Who qualifies as a tall Jewish man? What height? 5'8?
Posted by: fitz | October 25, 2004 at 10:46 PM
It is quite clearly a shot at Lyor. That's why I'm having my editor take it out right now. Because it looks like I'm reacting to some overarching statement about anti-semitism, which it's not. It's pointed. Shit will be fixed.
As far as me not liking something signifying it true failure, I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with that. I'm discerning, but compared to you I'm a dickriding whitewasher...but so is everyone who isn't you, Bol. You fucking scoundrel.
Peace in your crease.

>You fucking scoundrel.
I see that's becoming your pet name for me.

This is probably like when MJ Blige requested that Braveheart song be removed from Nas' CD. Nothing to do with tall Israelis, Mos just realised the song sucks.

The tall israelis should have been a lot harder on the CD, and before it came out.

Lyor Cohen doesn't run shit. Although he is tall.

I'm sure we would love to give you a chance, but perhaps first we could introduce you to the wonderful world of pronunciation?
Mind you, I like the name.
