Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain: LA's Desert Origins

Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain

I picked up a copy of Slanted & Enchanted: Luxe & Reduxe back when I could afford to do shit like that and thought it was one of the cooler things I'd ever purchased. According to P-fork, this reissue of Pavement's second album, Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain is right up there with it. I always thought this was the best Pavement album anyway, but, for whatever reason (probably having to do with when I went away to college, actually), I've listened to Terror Twilight more than any of their other ones.

I also read on the Fork a while back that Pavement was considering continuing their line of reissues, but that there wasn't as much bonus material for Wowee Zowee because pretty much everything they recorded for it ended up on the album. Having heard WZ, I could definitely believe that. But, on the other hand, they claim that basically all of the worst songs they recorded during the Brighten the Corners sessions ended up on that album and that there's a whole other album's worth of far superior material from that era. Again, having heard the mess that is BtC, that doesn't surprise me. A reissue of that one might actually be pretty cool.
