Informal soft rock poll

John Ondrasik

OK, up until fairly recently I was convinced that "100 Years" by Five for Fighting was the best song of all time, but then I was riding in my car and that song "Walking in Memphis" by Marc Cohn came on and now I don't know what to think. The guy from Five for Fighting is cool because he's got that creepy opera singer voice and all, but I'm thinking that the gospel choir towards the end of "Walking in Memphis" might have given it a slight edge. Plus it's older, so it has kinda stood the test of time, but it might not be fair to penalize the other song just because it's new. What does everybody else think?
