The Real World: San Diego - Episode 25: Episode Summary

The first thing I noticed this week was how they changed the intro to edit out Frankie and to edit in this new Charlie kid. The way they did it, it seems as if Charlie was always there from the beginning. I mean, it's almost as if they re-shot the whole sequence, but I'm pretty sure it was just a matter of editing. If only they could devote that much time and effort to the rest of the show...

This episode begins with Brad, Robin and Jamie getting together for a threesome and deciding that they want to go for the big bonus this weekend. That basically entails the whole gang showing up on time and working on a Saturday. They tell Troy they'll do it, but Charlie says he might not be able to because he might have somebody coming in from out of town. Later that evening he picks up his gf (or is she?) Laura from the airport and decides then and there that he won't be working tomorrow.

Meanwhile, back at their little converted fish resturant/alcoholic drug den of a house, Cam's having a little celebration for her 20th birthday. She blows out the candles on this little rinky dink cake they got her and immediately proceeds to dive into it face first like the kid from A Christmas Story. That bitch. What if someone else had wanted a piece? I bet Ja had been eyeing that cake all day. Stephhen from RW Seattle would've made an issue of it.

So there was that, and then it's the next day. The gang makes it just in time (read a few minutes late) for work sans Charlie who claims he's got it OK with Troy that he won't be working because he has someone in from out of town. Troy calls BS and informs the gang that since they aren't all there and since Lil' Rand doesn't have a valid excuse, there won't be any bonus today. The gang gets all pissed, but goes ahead and works anyway. Meanwhile, they show Charlie at home wrestling on the little blowjob chair with Laura.

Hours later, the gang gets home from work all pissed. Cam runs into Charlie, who's all like, "How's work?" She just kinda walks right past him. He figures out what's going on and tries to convince the gang that it wasn't his fault but rather a simple misunderstanding between himself and Troy (pure BS, of course). Then he actually goes so far as to try to actually call Troy and convince him of the same thing. That cocky little bastard. Troy's not buying it though.

Later on, Lil' Acne must've went out somewhere with Laura when Cam stands on the edge of his bed, jumps up and down a couple of times and then coldly and purposely stomps the kid's guitar. She stands around and giggles about it for a bit before Robin (who you really want to be taking advice from) decides it would be the best idea for them to leave the scene of the crime. She figures it can't be worth any more than $200, which is what their bonus would have been.

Charlie ends up walking in a little bit later and is immediately confronted by Cam, who says she has something to show him. His immediate response is, "It better not be my guitar." It is. He says the little hole in it pretty much ruins the guitar, which is worth upwards of $800. Ja's all like, "You aren't going to let her get away with that are you?" Cam jets from the room and claims she's going to "look at the Internet for a guitar fixer."

Charlie shows up the next day to make up for his having not showed up the day before. Troy (the coolest guy on the show at this point) makes him scrape the words "Stars & Stripes" from the side of the boat with nothing but his fingernails and a heat gun. The next day, or whatever, is the gang's last day with the boat company, which, of course, means another 3 min. or so of confessionals about life lessons learned. Whatever. I'm pretty sure they were late for this day too, but T.R.O.Y. goes ahead and gives them a bonus (probably nothing compared to what MTV is paying him anyway).

Next Week: The series season finale. Brad might get arrested again!
