Pat Tillman, suicide bomber

The other day, during some argument about something or other, I mentioned that this Pat Tillman kid was more or less the equivalent of a suicide bomber. Fitz came on here all outraged hopped up on hyperbole pills, but didn't really offer any reasons why he wouldn't be other than that a soldier thinks he might die where as a suicide bomber plans to die. I agreed. Now he's talking some mess about logic, reasonability, sanity, morality and sensibility. Riiight.
Here, let's go down a list of facts:
A SUICIDE BOMBER: Relatively well off. No real reason to blow himself up.
PAT TILLMAN: Relatively well off. No real reason to go get himself shot.
A SUICIDE BOMBER: Sees images of fucked up shit going on in his country on whatever his local propaganda machine is.
PAT TILLMAN: Sees images of fucked up shit going on in his country on the Fox News Channel. Gets all angry and shit.
A SUICIDE BOMBER: Decides to go blow himself up.
PAT TILLMAN: Decides to go over to Iraq, where he might get shot.
A SUICIDE BOMBER: Gets blown to shreds. Becomes a hero among his people and a recruitment tool.
PAT TILLMAN: Gets shot to death. Becomes a hero among his people and a recruitment tool.
Yo Fitz (and the rest of you, I guess), where exactly does the difference come in?
